Yesterday, tens of thousands marched in New York City’s Celebrate Israel parade. While spirits were high, according to Times of Israel, there were some Israel-haters on hand, shouting out some of the most vile pro-terror, antisemitic things at marchers:
A handful of pro-Palestinian counter-protesters heckled the marchers from one spot on the sidelines, leading to some verbal standoffs over a police barricade. A few dozen members of the fringe anti-Zionist, ultra-Orthodox Neturei Karta group also protested.
The pro-Palestinian demonstrators chanted, “There is only one solution, intifada revolution,” “Go back to Europe,” and shouted “Shame,” as the governor passed by.
There were also some who passed by with the palestinian Arab flag, while wearing keffiyehs, symbols of terror.
Yet there were no reports of Israel supporters reacting with violence. As you can see from the above photo, things stayed calm, and the Israel-haters were able to do their thing.
Now compare to what happens when you pass an anti-Israel rally in New York City with an Israeli flag:
I know it is not always helpful to simplify things, but this really does speak volumes. Israel supporters are on the whole about expressing our love for our homeland. The other side are all about demonization and hatred. This is why I do not refer to them as “pro-palestinian” but rather “Israel-haters.” It is their hatred for Israel and the Jewish people that defines them, and regularly manifests itself in violence. Of course, if you participate in a rally supporting the murder of innocent civilians, why wouldn’t you also be predisposed towards beating the cr*p out of those you hate?
This juxtaposition among the pro-Israel and anti-Israel is actually a reflection of the two side in the conflict. Israel is about building and progress, making the country better for all her citizens (whether Jew, Muslim or Christian) and, indeed, the world a better place for everyone. The palestinian Arabs are about destroying what us Jews have built. This is why we continue to thrive, and they continue to struggle and not – as the Woke worldview would have you believe – because we are oppressors who benefit on the backs of the oppressed, keeping them down and preventing them from progressing.
Or, to make it even simpler: we choose life while they choose death.
