Imani Oakley’s Campaign Ad Contained a Familiar Antisemitic Trope

Yesterday I posted about Israel-hater Imani Oakley’s ignominious defeat in the Democratic primaries, at the hands of someone who Zoomed in his underwear.

Today, while looking over her tweets, I noticed her campaign ad as her pinned tweet:

Besides the terrible puns, notice the reference to “the Benjamins.” This reference was made infamous by Ilhan Omar over three years ago, when she essentially used it to suggest the Israel lobby uses money to wield power over US politicians.

An antisemitic trope to be sure, which worked on a two antisemitic levels given “Benjamin” is a Jewish surname.

And here, years later, Imani Oakley – no doubt aware of the uproar that Omar’s words caused at the time – decided to use them for her campaign.

Which beggars the question: Is she dumb or an antisemite?

I think she’s both.
