Those who hate Israel continue to make life unpleasant for pretty much everyone, with protesters interrupting Scotland’s Women’s Euro 2025 qualifier against Israel at Glasgow’s Hampden stadium on Friday.
Protesters assembled outside Hampden Park in Glasgow on Friday ahead of Scotland’s Women’s Euro 2025 qualifier versus Israel, demonstrating against Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza.
About 400 people, some carrying small coffins and Palestinian flags, gathered at the main stand entrance before kickoff, the BBC reported.
Signs included one reading “Israeli team not welcome in Glasgow.”
The game was delayed by around 45 minutes to detain a protester who was tied to a goalpost with a heavy-duty bike lock and wearing a black t-shirt that said “red card for Israel.”
When the game kicked off demonstrators booed and blew whistles, while fireworks were let off, the BBC said.
I wish they had allowed him to stay tied to the goalpost during the game – especially given he is essentially supporting those who murdered, kidnapped, and raped innocent people.
TAs it turns out, the Israeli women ended up losing the match, but can certainly hold their heads up high with their on-field act:
When the two sides returned to the field, the Israeli team held up a T-shirt bearing the message “Bring Them Home” in reference to hostages taken by the Hamas group in the official team photo.
And this isn’t even the first time the Israeli soccer team has done us all proud against the Scottish team before the match has even started.
