As we mourn the memory of the victims of the October 7 terror attack, we have to study and understand this evil and its roots.
We must understand the motivation and what drives this evil ideology.
After the terror of October 7, we witnessed a rise in antisemitism in the world, and I prefer to call it what it truly is: Jew hatred. Evil exposed its head and started spreading its poison everywhere, on university campuses, in the workplace, and on the streets. Let’s not forget how social media was a driving force behind spreading this poisonous ideology, with platforms allowing such evil under the guise of free speech.
The October 7 terror attack was, for all intents and purposes, a genocidal aspiration of an evil, sick society indoctrinated for centuries to not only hate Jews but strive to either enslave or murder them. This has been evident throughout history, and this attack only brought this evil ideology more into the world, making it clear for those with a sane mind and a conscience to see it for what it truly is.
My people, the Palestinians, would love to claim this didn’t begin on October 7, but rather goes back 76 years of “occupation and oppression” from the day in 1948 they declared a Nakba (a catastrophe). When they tell the story (cue emotional background music) touching the heart, and holding a rusted key in their hands, an old man or woman longing to return home, they fail to tell you how the story began and what drove them to this so called Nakba. It was their own evil selfishness that failed to see Jews as humans, refusing to live in peaceful coexistence with them. They failed to tell you that even prior to the establishment of Israel, Jews were forbidden to have their religious freedom on their holiest of holy sites, having to fight in court for their God given rights, or even how they were second class citizens throughout history. They failed to tell you about the massacre of innocent Jewish men and women that was a constant occurrence. The two massacres of 1929 predated the establishment of the state of Israel, so why then, when there was no Nakba, nor an occupation or so-called oppression?
Yes, this didn’t start on October 7, but that statement is true for the Jews. They were the ones to always suffer until a day came when they said, “No longer will we be enslaved to others, no longer will we be weak with trembling knees,” and established a small state of their own on their ancestral land. Kind heartedly, they were willing to share this land with everyone. All they strived for was peaceful coexistence. Here is where the true story the Palestinians hide and ignore: when five Arab countries launched a war against them with the sole purpose of destroying the newly founded state and committing genocide against all its citizens. The Nakba was nothing but a genocidal war against Jews that has continued since then, with Israel winning every war.
So, when we look at the conflict and try to understand the motivation, it’s purely Jew hatred, evil people selfishly refusing to accept Jews, who are the root of their own religious beliefs. Because if you think of it, without Judaism, there’s no Islam. What we hold dear to us has always been of Jewish belief. This ideology is driven by its hate and continued losses that the world allows to exist and has encouraged. It’s the failure of the international community that allowed the Palestinian identity to flourish and grow and become a weapon of terror against the Jewish people, leaving them a thorn in the side of Israel.
So, when they tell you this didn’t start on October 7, remind them: yes, it didn’t start for Jews on that day. It has been a haunting evil for centuries. But the difference today is that those who once had trembling knees now fight and hit back harder than anyone, with the strength of their ancestors in their blood, their spirits guiding them, and the power of God from above the heavens fighting for them.
