October 7th, it’s been a year,
A crazy range of emotions,
Dread and fear, half the time alive,
Half going through the motions.
.
Loving every soldier,
Superheroes, real and strong,
Our safety heavy on their minds,
The right battling the wrong.
.
We are all in this together,
Feeling solidarity and love,
Appreciation but also probing,
When talking to the One Above.
.
Wonderment and awe,
At miracles of sound and vision,
Man-made interceptions and explosions,
with a perfect Godly precision.
.
Enemies flee their homes,
As cruel leaders are eliminated,
Tentacles cut off one by one,
The evil octopus checkmated.
.
A long battle is still ahead,
Living life is our revenge,
Working, learning, and watching Netflix,
It’s our rebirth, how we avenge.
.
A resilient, proud, non-bending Jew,
From my river to my sea,
I raise my glass with hope,
And drink my cup of tea.
