Back in September, I posted how Fiona Ryan, the antisemitic dumbass who uploaded herself singing a song about wearing her antisemite badge with pride among other antisemitic and terror-supporting videos, was found guilty of four charges of posting “grossly offensive” TikTok videos.
Since then, she pled guilty to a further two charges of posting a “grossly offensive” series of posts on Twitter (X), related to those in October 2023 “showing support and glorification for the actions of Hamas.”
Yesterday, she was just given two suspended prison sentences, which essentially means she will avoid jail time unless she screws up again.
At the sentencing, she said she was remorseful:
Asked by whether she had anything to say about her offences, Ryan said: “I have had a long time to think about this case [because] the sentencing date has been moved back so often and I am deeply remorseful for any comments I have made on social media that caused any offence. I do understand why that has been the case, I am aware of what I have done which is why I pleaded guilty to the second case”.
Saying you are sorry for things that “caused offence” – as opposed to being sorry for doing the wrong thing – is usually the first indication that the “remorse” is anything but genuine. And I think the TikTok video she uploaded following the sentencing (yes, she is allowed to do that again after a long time being prohibited from doing so), gives a further insight into her so-called remorse:
Wearing a keffiyeh, saying “Free Palestine”, and an absence of any apology means I am not really getting the “remorseful” vibes. I think she reveals her true motivation when she admits “but obviously if I mess anything up then I’m right back in prison.”
Meanwhile, in court she also played the “prison for me would be harmful to my children” card:
When asked why she shouldn’t be given immediate imprisonment, Ryan said: “I am a primary carer for three children and it would be greatly harmful on them as much as on me. I am willing to work with probation service on whatever they need to do and I am hoping that will be enough to keep me out of prison.”
Yes, we already know what a great mother she is.
