This morning I saw how Jewish Hollywood actress Debra Winger was one of those at the recent protest at Trump Tower in response to the arrest and detention of terror supporter Mahmoud Khalil, saying some pretty vile anti-Israel things.
As someone who is usually pretty up-to-date with anti-Israel celebrities, I was surprised to learn this is not a new thing. She’s been at it for a while and these latest comments are actually nothing compared to some of her past ones.
I discovered that earlier this year, she was a guest on a podcast called Bad Hasbara with Israel-haters Matt Lieb and Daniel Maté. I sat through the entire two hours so you wouldn’t have to, and it is actually even worse than I thought it would be.
As you can see from the below video compilation I created, Winger, amongst other things:
- brags how her son has no connection to Israel (whose existence she shows she opposes)
- makes fun of and disparages religious Jews
- callously makes fun of and laughs at an advertisement drawing attention to the atrocities of October 7
- promotes the idea that antisemitism is not as bad as many claim (while suggesting Israelis are the worst antisemites)
The podcasters complain on the podcast of pro-Israel accounts taking their words out of context, so feel free to watch the entire thing, like I did, to confirm they are as disgusting as my edited clip suggests.
Winger has a reputation of being extremely difficult to work with, and has butted heads with many co-stars over the years. After watching this, I am guessing her being a really-not-nice person probably had something a lot to do with this.
