It is no secret that everyone’s favorite real punk John Lydon, aka ‘Johnny Rotten’, has been aging like a fine wine, making more and more sense as time goes by.
John recently appeared on Good Morning Britain and was asked his opinion about Kneecap, the Irish hip hop trio who have not only chanted anti-Israel slogans at their shows, but also been proudly pro-Hamas and pro-Hizbullah, and encouraged their fans to “kill your local (Tory) MP.”
Once again, John made perfect sense, while displaying his wicked sense of humor:
That last comment is quite profound. “I think they’re following what they think is the Sex Pistols route.”
Here, John is clearly implying that Kneecap are attempting to emulate the provocative and anti-establishment image that the Sex Pistols cultivated in the 1970s. And yes, it seems that by saying things like “kill your local MP,” they seem to be doing just that.
But I don’t think this is them cultivating an image. I believe Kneecap are actually this evil. Furthermore, it is tragically not considered so “edgy” these days to support terrorist organizations and the killing of people – especially in their beloved Ireland.
