Hello Israel! Thank Goodness We’re Home

It’s a sight none of us will ever forget. The Exodus from war-torn Europe where survivors from the death camps and other refugees found their way to Israel with the help of many dedicated heroes and willing supporters who risked their own life to give the Jewish people a chance to rebuild their lives.

Stories like the Exodus and many others are worth preserving and retelling.

To tell the world what we’ve built, how we’ve grown and how we are now one of the world’s leading producers of advanced technology and creativity.

How we’ve provided healthcare services to people of all religions, race and creed.

We’re proud of our achievements and so should you be, wherever you live.

Stories about our struggle for recognition to build a Jewish state seldom appear in the mainstream media.

But plenty of publicity is given to those ill-formed people who claim Israel is not a legitimate state.

Let them read Resolution 181 adopted by the United Nations in November 1947!

Few episodes of gallantry by both Jewish and non-Jewish people in saving thousands of Jewish people are sadly missing from the mainstream media who survive on sensationalism rather than articles of human interest and knowledge.

Whatever we are doing and achieving is falling on deaf ears.

Why doesn’t the mainstream media tell the truth about the miracle of Israel and negate the falsehoods and hatred aimed at both Israel and Jews everywhere?

If 77 years of frustration is any indication, to persuade the Palestinian Arabs to accept United Nations Resolution 181 for the creation of a Palestinian State on the territory with biblical names of Judea and Samaria, the chance of eliminating Israeli-bias in the mainstream media is dim.

What’s even more concerning is that, should a Palestinian State be created some time in the future, there is no guarantee antisemitism will disappear.

Antisemitism is like a dormant volcano. There’s always the danger it will erupt.

But let’s not bury ourselves in uncertainty. We should be proud to stand up and be counted as Jews.

As the heroes of the Exodus shouted out: Thank Goodness We’re Home.
