The Jewish World is facing a crisis from the power of words, used both by our enemies and in many cases, our friends.
It’s a crisis, not of our own doing, but escalating by others through the use of lies, misinformation and ignorance.
Israel is constantly being criticised for its poor Public Relations effort, but this is a somewhat misplaced argument.
Even if the Public Relations campaign was developed by World Jewry in the most effective and professional manner, it would not have changed the current position in which we are faced.
We are being outgunned when both words and ideas are written to incite, to justify violence, murder and barbarism.
Military Might
Israel’s military might is known worldwide; on the battlefield, in the air and with the determined effort by the armed forces to protect innocent civilians.
But our enemies recognise our strength and chose to attack us in a totally barbaric manner, not on the battleground, but at a music festival.
And since that dreadful day they have systematically applied the pressure with lies, lies and even more lies.
Our enemies have used the power of evil words to convince the world that Israel is the aggressor.
It is clear, military achievements by Israel are not going to solve the greater concern of ballooning antisemitism.
Will peaceful negotiations ever work between Israel and its Arab enemies?
In Middle Eastern diplomacy the word ‘negotiation’ is ineffective. Negotiation is all about power. Winners and losers!
In 77 years Israel has won every war in which we have fought. That’s why we are still here.
Negotiations have constantly failed. Power has been our greatest asset.
What About a Solution?
The best Jewish brains in the world have never been able to stem the flow of antisemitism throughout the ages.
It is unlikely this will ever change and it is probably futile to believe it can be changed. But we should look inwards.
Economics of the world suggest that wealth is not being shared in a balanced manner throughout society.
The rich are getting richer, the poor getting poorer. The middle ground is shrinking.
Perhaps this is open to question, but if we apply the same formula to the Jewish World we are spreading apart which is weakening our strength.
The Right are moving further to the right, The Left to the left.
This division is weakening our collective strength, with it our power to adopt our rightful place in a world of uncertainty and deep concern.
A solution is within our grasp should we have the courage and willingness to resolve our divisions in an amicable and understandable manner for a collective benefit.
What’s even more worrying is the fact our enemies are trading on our internal differences to further incite the rest of the world.
This is their most powerful weapon in their aims and objectives to eliminate the State of Israel.
Unity within Israel could be an even greater weapon to achieve overall strength should we find a way to achieve it. It’s within our grasp.
