Meet Joshua Last:
Joshua Last describes himself as a “changing things for the better guy.” Given he is a member of the Socialist Alliance, “changing things for the better” is really code for “making things a whole lot worse.”
And naturally this includes hating on the world’s only Jewish state. So much so, he decided to commemorate the October 7 Hamas massacre of Israelis by desecrating the Eliza statue in Perth’s Swan River with a keffiyeh, palestinian flag, and placard:
To be clear, it is vile enough to commemorate October 7 by siding with those who perpetrated the massacre. What makes it even worse is Israel’s response did not even begin October 7, so his statement is a huge lie (not that we are deliberately “bombing children” either).
On the Socialist Alliance website it mentions that Joshua last “is now studying to be a primary school teacher.” Clearly brainwashing young minds will be on the agenda. That is an even scarier thought than him becoming a politician – and way more likely.
Thankfully, in the 2025 Australian Federal Elections, Joshua almost lived up to his name by coming dead last, with a grand total of 970 votes out of a possible 105,894. A fitting result for a man so determined to wave the wrong flag.
Perth deserves better. Fremantle deserves better. And schoolchildren deserve better.
