Earlier today, I posted how David Corenswet, the latest Superman actor, had seemingly signed the pledge by Film Workers for Palestine – refusing to work with Israeli film institutions that are allegedly tied to “genocide and apartheid” against Palestinians.
In that now deleted post, I wrote:
Superman’s co-creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman with unmistakable Jewish resonances, opposed Nazism early and often in their work, and gave to Jewish charities. It’s tragic, really. The character born from Jewish pain and hope – a savior who stood for the oppressed – now played by someone who sides against the very people his creators sought to protect.
At least there have been some real mensches who have played Superman. Like Dean Cain, who is a strong supporter of the Jews and the Jewish state against the modern day Nazis. And the Superman, Christopher Reeve, would detest the idea of boycotting us.
I am happy to report that the signature did not actually belong to David Corenswet – as even the bad guys admit:

You have to love these haters’ “commitment to accuracy” – while falsely accusing Israel of apartheid and genocide.
So no, Superman hasn’t turned to the dark side after all. But the haters have again revealed their own kryptonite: truth.
