Lara Brown (Melbourne): Another “Anti-Zionist-Not-Antisemite” Exposed

Meet Lara Brown:

lara brown

A writer turned urbanist, Lara still likes to write. And while she claims she “Talks about #disabilityinclusion #climatechange #urbanloneliness #equitablecities #housingisahumanright”, her LinkedIn feed is dominated by Israel-bashing.

For instance, she amplified this post characterizing Hersh Goldberg-Polin – who was captured by Hamas at the Nova music festival and subsequently murdered in captivity – as an IDF soldier who “died in Gaza.”

And those Israeli women raped by Hamas? Radio silence. Not that sexual abuse is something she never mentions:

In fact, I have not seen even one post from her condemning October 7.

Like most “anti-Zionists-not-antisemites” before her, she sometimes will amplify an anti-Zionist Jew. But her cover is blown when she amplies antisemitic tropes – like that of “Jewish supremacism”, popularized by former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke:

and that of the powerful lobby of Jews:

and when she amplifies the idea of Jewish Israelis almost all being evil:

and the Holocaust comparisons in contravention of the IHRA working definition of antisemitism:

Another indication Lara Brown might have it in for the Jews is how she focuses in on the Jewish state, almost to the exclusion of actual atrocities elsewhere in the world. The great Tom Elliott once called her out on this:

Naturally, she is silent on the Iranian regime’s butchering of regular Iranians. In fact, she has shilled for Iran:

Naturally, she has also been silent on the Bondi massacre of Jews. But Islamophobia!

I am certainly not getting the “inclusion” vibes from Lara Brown. At least when it comes to Jews.

And I’m not getting the #equitablecities vibe from her either:

According to her LinkedIn, she is currently the Senior Change & Communications Manager at the University of Melbourne, where she is professionally tasked with fostering clear communication and positive organizational shift. Yet, her feed communicates a very different message – one that recycles age-old tropes and erases Jewish suffering.

The University of Melbourne have adopted the IHRA working definition of antisemitism. The question now isn’t just what Lara Brown believes – but whether the University of Melbourne is prepared to apply its own standards consistently.
