‘Spiderman’ Tom Holland Dines at Iconic Kosher Restaurant in Paris

Spiderman actor Tom Holland recently grabbed a bite to eat at L’As du Fallafel, a kosher Middle Eastern restaurant located in the “Pletzl” Jewish quarter of the Le Marais neighborhood in Paris, France. We know this because he left the receipt(s) – in the form of a selfie:

True, Tom Holland has been silent when it comes to the demonization Israel and antisemitism, so perhaps this is his way of showing some solidarity with the Jewish community. Think Jerry O’Connell. Or perhaps he was just in the neighborhood and happened to be hungry. Sometimes a falafel is just a falafel. With great hunger comes great gastronomy.

At least he is not like chickpea brain Mark Ruffalo, his Avengers castmate and Incredible Dolt, who I doubt would ever dine in a Jewish Middle Eastern restaurant. He would likely consider it cultural appropriation. You have to pita da’ fool.

Incidentally, there is another Tom Holland – a British historian – who is somewhat pro-Israel. Some have mistaken him for this Tom Holland in the past.

By the way, Tom’s Spiderman predecessor Andrew Garfield, is an Israel-hater. Whereas his predecessor Tobey McGuire, seems to be one of the good guys.

In a world where so many celebrities trip over themselves to signal hostility toward Jews and the Jewish state, merely being seen comfortably in the heart of a historic Jewish quarter almost feels refreshingly subversive.

Maybe it means something. Maybe it means nothing.

But until he proves otherwise, I’ll take shawarma over silence, falafel over faux outrage, and a selfie in the Pletzl over another sanctimonious lecture from Mark Ruffalo any day.

So, is Tom Holland a secret Zionist or just a fan of fried chickpeas? The jury is still out. But in a Hollywood where so many actors are eager to swallow propaganda, it’s refreshing to see one who is at least willing to swallow some authentic Jewish culture, pita and all.
