Israel-Hater Busted For Hiding Hebrew on “Palestine” Mandate Coins

An Israel-hater on X has provided definitive proof that “Palestine” has a history. Or so she claims.

These are of course the Palestine Mandate Coins, which I first wrote about a decade ago. As I pointed out then, it is laughable as proof, because no-one is denying there was a British Mandate Palestine, a geopolitical entity under British administration, carved out of Ottoman Southern Syria after World War I. The issue is there was never a “Palestinian” state. Ever.

But it gets worse for the so-called “palestinian cause.” Those coins have Hebrew on them in addition to the Arabic, which the Israel-hater has obscured and made less obvious by orientating the coins the way she has. If you flip the photo, the Hebrew becomes more obvious:

And what does the Hebrew say? As I wrote before, it says פלשתינה – Hebrew for “Palestine” – followed by (א”י). And the א”י is none other than the abbreviation for ארץ ישראל – Hebrew for the land of Israel. This was added to the coin to conform to the Balfour Declaration. In fact, the coins were officially introduced on November 1, 1927 – the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. And the Arabs were not happy campers about the addition of this abbreviation on the coin, rioting in protest.

No doubt the hater was aware of the Hebrew, hence the obvious attempt at obfuscation.

In other words, in trying to “prove” some ancient sovereign state of “Palestine,” all she did is showcase British Mandate currency that literally identifies the land in Hebrew as ארץ ישראל, the Land of Israel.

It takes a special kind of propaganda fail to wave around a coin claiming it represents “Free Palestine,” only for it to effectively read “Welcome to Eretz Yisrael.”

This isn’t just a “self-own”; it’s a perfect microcosm of the anti-Israel movement. When the facts don’t fit the narrative, they simply flip the truth upside down and hope no one notices the fine print.
