It is no secret that pop legend Boy George is willing to go against the grain.
Obviously.
And it is also no secret that he is a staunch supporter of the Jewish people and the Jewish state.
This was manifest when he ripped antisemite Roger Waters a new one last month, but he just outdid that yesterday – when he released a song about the aftermath of Hamas’s October 7 massacre titled “We will dance again”

You say genocide, I say war
When you’re attacked, that’s what the army’s for
Does it get ugly? You bet it does
When I know you wanna kill
Every last one of us
Every last one of us
You never mention October 7
Youngers raped against trees
Murder through Tel Aviv
For the crime of dancing
You condemn the Jews, with selective memory
Musicians holding flags, mouthing like sheep
Propaganda fuelled by the Internet feels so weak[Chorus]But trust me, we will dance again
Wе will dance again
We will dance again
And thеre will be no war
But if you’re ever confused
I stand with the Jews
I don’t feel brave, I just need to behave like a human
But trust me, we will dance again
We will dance again
We will dance again
And there will be no war
But if you’re ever confused
I stand with the Jews
I don’t feel brave, I just need to behave like a human
True, but ballsy.
Naturally, Boy George is being attacked over this, including by many former fans.
And he is not taking it lying down, responding to some of the vitriol and even – wait for it – mocking antisemitic chicken for KFC Harry Cook:

Harry has himself responded – with a cringe video of course.
I don’t think Harry should be so dirty about it – Boy George did make him look stronger than he actually looks, giving him a proper neck and not the pencil one he actually has:

That’s right, Harry. If you want to make fun of someone else’s looks, make sure you don’t look like a coked-out giraffe.
Oh, and if you are going to go after people who broke the law in the past, you might want to look in your own camp – starting with Nasser Mashni, the Australian leader of your shitty cause, who once chased a child, beat him with a wooden axe handle, shoved him into the boot of his car and drove him to an abandoned paddock where he threatened to break his legs.
Not that you seem to abhor violence, especially when used against people you don’t like.
But back to Boy George. There is another reason I will always have a soft spot for him. Back in 2018, when my late wife was undergoing chemotherapy for the stage 4 ovarian cancer that would ultimately take her life, I asked him if he’d send her a message. He didn’t hesitate.

People reveal their character when there’s nothing to gain.
Boy George didn’t have to comfort my wife during her cancer battle. He didn’t have to stand with Jews after October 7. And he certainly doesn’t have to weather the torrent of abuse he’s now receiving.
Mensch George. It has a nice ring to it.
