Haters have been reporting how Teresa Regina de Ávila e Silva, the mother of Flotilla participant and alleged sex pest Thiago Ávila, passed away. For example:
Teresa Regina de Ávila e Silva, the mother of Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila, passed away on Tuesday, as her son remains abducted in Israel after joining a humanitarian mission to Gaza.
The news came from Brazilian media citing the Civil Police Union of the Federal District (Sinpol-DF), where Ávila’s sister, Luana de Ávila, serves as vice president. The union said Teresa Regina had faced a serious health condition in recent months. Despite this, she showed strength, calm, and dignity throughout her struggle.
Family, friends, and colleagues remember her as a woman full of warmth and resilience. They described her as deeply devoted to her family and always present for those around her. Her loss has left a profound emotional impact, especially at a time when her son’s fate has drawn international attention.

Note how their emphasis is on how her passing is especially tragic, given her son is in Israeli custody.
I think more thought should be given to how on earth sonny boy decided to go on the flotilla and leave his ill mother.
You see, Teresa Regina de Ávila e Silva had been ill for a long time – more than 20 years – after she suffered three strokes. Yet here we have Thiago gallavanting around the world, allegedly sowing his seeds on a boat he knew would likely not even reach Gaza (and which did not have any aid on it anyway – just condoms and blow).
Because besides being a sex boat, it was also just an exercise in self-promotion and frivolity.
Flotilla members are dancing like sexy terrorists and making the Hamas triangle symbol to try and free their leaders. I don’t think this is helping. pic.twitter.com/9FT3zdMrer

But back to Thiago Ávila, who besides being son-of-the-year is also husband-of-the-year, leaving his wife and two-year-old daughter, who was named after his ill mother. Mind you, he left his daughter when she was six months old, so no surprises there. A man’s gotta do what who a man’s gotta do.
The tragedy here isn’t that Thiago is in custody while his mother passed away; the tragedy is that he prioritized a PR stunt and sex over his mother’s final months and his daughter’s formative years.
