Scott Wiener Learns That Smearing Israel Not Enough To Please The Mob

In January of this year, California State Senator Scott Wiener posted a social media video stating he believes Israel has committed “genocide” in Gaza:

This understandably upset many Jews, and the resulting controversy led to Wiener stepping down as co-chair of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus the following month.

But at least he gained the respect of the Israel-hating crowd.

Right?

Ok, but at least those in the LGBTQ+ and trans communities for whom he has been a tireless advocate.

Right?

So why the hostility? Wiener believes in Israel’s right to exist and he is also Jewish, so I am guessing one or both of these facts rub these people the wrong way. Yet they will claim anti-Zionism and antisemitism are two completely separate things.

Wiener has learned the hard way that giving them an inch won’t save you if you’re Jewish or believe the Jewish people have the right to self-determination.
