Only a month ago The Conservatives (UK political party) were highly pilloried for taking a picture of a German road, photoshopping it to extremes, slapping on a Union Jack and using it in a poster with the slogan “Let’s stay on the road to a stronger economy.”
Today is Tu B’Shvat, a Jewish, arboreal celebration and the “anyone but Bibi” political invasion force, V15, is pumping out this image via every medium they can find:
The slogan is just “This is the time to plant hope”. The picture looks a lot like this one, doesn’t it:
Come on people, those aren’t even really trees, they’re vines. And all you had to do was drive 35 minutes away from your favourite Tel Aviv latte-hole and snap a picture of real Israeli trees with your iPhone.
Heck you can ask me to give you one! I’ve got plenty of photos of wood: I’d be happy to grant you world-wide re-use rights on one of my shots for a sensible consideration of course.
There’s another somewhat obscure religious detail missed for this year: Israel is in the midst of a “shmita” which is a once every seven year break from planting things. So just this year, we’re not planting lots of trees!
