Last time we heard from Israellycool friend and reader correspondent (he’s been promoted) Dr Sam, he was advised by the ABC that they were awaiting a 90-page document coming from the palestinian equivalent of the bureau of statistics, which supposedly supported the ABC’s claims that Israel was behind the availability of illicit drugs in palestinian society.
Well, now it seems as though the ABC has received this report, so they should be able to support their claims. Right?
Well, not exactly.

Subject: Re: Follow upDear Dr Sam
Thank you for your email. Once again, please accept my sincere
apologies on behalf of the ABC for the delay in responding to your
complaint. As advised in my email of 5 February, I am now in receipt of the report
entitled “The Phenomenon of Drug Abuse in the Palestinian Territory”
produced by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and the UN
Office on Crime and Drugs. We have reviewed this report and sought
further clarification on a number of matters from our News division. We
have received some, but not all, the requested information from ABC
News; two specific points remain outstanding. I hope to have these
points clarified before the end of this week.I would like to assure you that the matters you have raised are being
considered in detail and thoroughly, and that it is our top priority to
resolve your complaint. Unfortunately I am still unable to provide you
with a date when you will receive our findings.Yours sincerely

I guess it takes them time to formulate an apology.
