First International JBloggers Convention

Aussie Dave

Some of you may already know about the First International JBloggers Convention, to take place in Jerusalem in a number of weeks. There are a number of panel discussions with bloggers behind Jewish blogs such as Treppenwitz, Jewlicious, Israel Matzav and Oleh Girl. Also, some anglo-Israeli bloggers are also being sent to the US (and return flight back) on one of their aliya flights, to accompany an oleh (immigrating) family and blog their experience.

I was invited to be on one of the panel discussions, but apparently did not respond in a timely enough manner since I was sitting Shiva (in mourning) for my father. I was not, however, offer a trip to the US and back, which I would like to think was more because I am not American than anything else (although if truth be told, I can ill afford to take any more time off work).

I have sent a mail to one of the organizers and offered to be on a panel discussion if they still want me. After all, I have been a big supporter of Jewish blogs in the past, having founded the JIB awards and having been involved in other efforts to leverage the power of these blogs for the good of Israel.

Because I just know you were all wondering.
