Scenes From An Anti-Israel Protest

Very instructive.

Besides the general venom on display, you might be interested in the cries of “Nazi pigs”, the sign “Free Palestine From the River to the Sea,” (showing how they want Israel destroyed), and how the “anti-ZIONIST” facade falls at the end as the antisemitism shines through with the cries of “F****** Jesus killers” (followed by a call for no cursing, as if that’s the offensive part of the statement).

Feel free to treat this as an open thread, since I am going to be out of blogging action for much of the day.

I always thought that the most awesome "counter-protest" to these fools would be to gather 100 jews with israeli flags, stand just outside the barriers and just point and laugh at the idiots. Can you imagine how incensed they would get? Picture it. "ZIONIST PIGS!" response: "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!".

    • juvanya says:

Or maybe dress up as pigs and oink in Hebrew.

    • David III says:

Even better, walking towards them, opening your coat to reveal a fake homicide vest and keep walking towards them while screaming alahu akbar alternating with holy koran or something silly. My guess is they would not want to be martyrs and the crowd would split sort of like the waters before Moshe!

  2. Usydgirl says:

my university here in Australia found it fitting to move a Palestinian, chemical engineering student into my on campus share-house. I try my hardest to be pleasant. But seeing footage like this makes it very very difficult. Racist, Zionist pigs?

Yesterday the joke at my dinner table was that I probably had a gun hiding under my wheelchair. Of course, my comeback about qassams being hidden upstairs was taken with offence and a long winded explanation about Palestinians being peaceful people. Tell that to the kids who paint pictures on bomb shelters in Sederot.

It’s getting harder to not slap the ‘free palestine’ groupies that hand out flyers in the Quad at Sydney uni. Eighteen year old Aussies that either know nothing about the situation combined with brainwashed Arabs doesn’t make for a fun walk to my Hebrew class.

Maybe I’m just becoming a racist Zionist pig, but

    • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

      Not easy, is it?

      • Usydgirl says:

Nope, but I tell myself it’s character building (when I’m in a bad mood and tempted to strike back) or just plain hilarious (when I need a laugh). The ignorance astounds me. Apparently they call our education department an ‘occupied territory’ because of the amount if Jewish academic staff… Well that kind of says something, nachon?

        • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

It says your government ought to stop issuing them student visas!

          Chemical engineering, huh?

        • Michael says:

Keep fighting the good fight! Don't let it get to you as no matter what, there are people out there who support you against the idiocy.

I have encountered much the same ignorance here. I am very much pro-resolution to the issue, but it is absolutely remarkable how ignorant people are…such as that the areas in the original partition plan had majority Jews or was the worst land in Israel. Anti-zionism and Anti-semitism are synonymous for me now and have been for a long time.

    • juvanya says:

I am trying hard not to be a Kahanist, but one day we may all realize he was right. One day we all may stop having patience. One day…

      • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

Well, the Kahanas are old friends of the family, even if most of us didn't agree with him. I really feel bad for Libby, losing her husband and son like that.

Of course, he basically created the Soviet Jewry movement (following Elie Weisel's The Jews of Silence), so you may have to change your opinion on Soviet history…

        • juvanya says:

Oh yes, I forget the group that was somewhat related that attacked Soviet interests in the US. Jewish Defense front or something.

I dont really see how it would force such a change if I were to support him only re Israel.

          • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

True, but somehow I think that if you were in College in the '70s you would have been with the movement, with Rabbi Avi Weiss (who got a bit of a pass at first because he was politically liberal) if not with the JDL. The JDL was started to defend old Jews in New York who were left behind in bad neighborhoods, I believe. Everything else came afterwards.

Kach wants to throw the Arabs out of Israel proper, unless they change thier tune, something he did not believe culturally possible. For this reason (officially, anyway), they were banned from the Keneset. It IS permitted to advocate for throwing our enemies out of the territories; this is a position to the left of Rabbi Kahane. I think he was paying Arabs off to leave the territories, and was arrested for block-busting (attempting to change a neighborhood – illegal in NY in certain cases) or something.

            • juvanya says:

I'm not sure where I would be. I have told a number of people that if the USSR were still around, I would probably defect. Although, I would prefer it being more like the way China is now: no Cold War. In fact, the way we are with China is what the USSR and FDR wanted: friendly competition. Churchill and Truman had other intentions.

What about the loyal Arabs? Lieberman seems to draw this distinction. Loyal Arabs can stay and throw out is more like redraw the borders.

Buying out the Arabs is one of my ideas. I think Israel might be up to paying whatever billions it would cost to buy out every hostile Arab owner. Of course, would they sell? Perhaps the moderates (a opposed to loyal and hostile—3 groups) could be bought out, leaving a smallish band of hostiles that could probably be forced out or eliminated.

No matter what we do, we cant win.

  3. nrs says:

Ouch, these people are nasty! It's not hard to imagine how Jews felt in Germany, 1935, with the rise of Nazism. They had to put up with that same kind of abuse. Now it's our turn. Kinda makes you want to join the NRA. Seriously, the Holy One must be getting pretty angry about all this. Their payback can't be that far off.

  4. Jim from Iowa says:

It seems clear that this little group of malcontents was trying to incite violence with insulting signs and language. At this they failed miserably. Its hard to tell from the jumpy video, but it appears that a young man wearing a kippah walking by was enough for this crowd to hurl cries of "Nazi!" Not sure what their political objectives were–certainly not a negotiated peace settlement with Israel. Oh well, back to the barricades tomorrow after a good night's sleep in Mom and Dad's basement.

  5. Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

    D-E-P-O-R-T-A-T-I-O-N

And a nice word for NEw York's Finest, the long suffering police department.

    • juvanya says:

So woefully underpaid. Starting salary is like $25k. Where I live, they start at I think $40 or $50k. And then all they have to do is bust teenage parties, arrest DUIs, and respond to the occasional jewelry store or bank robbery.

  6. Stan says:

In terms of Hasbarah, this protest was a victory for the good guys (Israel). Deporting them would be a victory for the bad guys.

    Stan

  7. juvanya says:

Finnaly got to watch the video, were they calling those guys with yamakas walking by Zionist or Nazi pigs? That would pose an interesting test. Have someone walk by such a protest with a yamaka and see how they react.

  8. Norman B. says:

Funny, but I didn't notice any articles about this in the New York papers I looked at. Certainly no screaming headlines. These demonstrations must have become dog-bites-man stories by now.

  9. Eddie says:

From the River to the Sea,

    Pal-e-SWINE Will NEVER BE!

    INSHALLAH!

  10. cigna says:

It’s time to admit the truth: the war in Iraq is due to oil and government contracts to private companies, not knocking down the Towers and killing so many Americans. The White House knew these terrorists were in the country and did NOTHING! They waste time and money chasing after Mexican illigals who do us no phyiscal harm, and are doing jobs most American lazy pelple will not lower themselves to do! QUIT LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT why we are in Iraq! We have oil resources here in American we could appropriate but for the goody two shoes who are on the side of minows, the gnats, the rats and the worms on the earth and care nothing about the people. Save the Whales, sacrifice the people! This country is being led by IDIOTS who are only interested in lining their pockets. WANT TO BE RICH? BECOME A CONGRESSMAN!

    • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

They weren't legally allowed to do anything at the time, thanks to the Church Commision. Or do you think Farenheit 911 is fact?

If we were in Iraq due to oil, where is the oil?

  11. Julia says:

Whether you agree with the protesters' rhetoric or not, you must agree that they are very brave demanding that their government stop complying in Israeli crimes. They are taking responsibility.

    • David III says:

No, I must not. Pray tell, what Israeli crimes? Killing terrorists with bombs strapped on?

Julia, go spend some time in Saudi Arabia, Libya, Syria, the West Bank, Gaza and walk their like an American — wearing pants or a skirt, no hijab, a t-shirt and let me know if you survive.

  12. Shy Guy says:

Dave, is this the new lulu dump?

    xD

  13. Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

What do they do? Give them their own land and proceed to get attacked?

And what of what the "palestinian people" have been doing to them since before there was an Israel? Or did you miss that bit of history?
