Obama’s Chickensh*t Moment

Oh yes I did go there.

Granted, I don’t normally post on US politics, but I couldn’t walk away from this. Besides, I need a break from posting about Israel in light of yesterday’s events.

And I do realize many of our readers are Democrats, some of whom really dig President Obama. That’s cool. If it’s any consolation, I can’t vote in US elections.

As Mira mentioned in this post, leaked videos of Jonathan Gruber, credited as the “Obamacare architect,” surfaced, showing him bragging about how the White House deceived the public and Congress in order to pass the Affordable Care Act.

More videos here.

Then at the G20 Press Conference a few days ago, President Obama fielded questions, including this one from Ed Henry of Fox News.

Good advice, that, President Obama, to “go back and pull up every clip, every story.” Because that’s what I’ve done.

So which is it? Gruber is just “some advisor” who never worked on staff, or one of the brightest minds from academia and policy circles, from whom he may or may not have stolen ideas?

And Mr Gruber, what’s the view like down there under the bus?

  1. Gee, Dave, how did Fox News miss the opportunity to hire you for your fair and balanced coverage of our president? Love how you cover Israel and the MIddle East, but things like ObamaCare and Benghazi? You could leave that for my fellow Americans Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh. They’ve pretty well run these topics into the ground already.

Yes, Jim, if it’s on Fox it must be false, and if Limbuagh said it it must be wrong.
Save that. I get enough of it from my family and co-workers. Every criticism of Obama care that you guys dismissed so smugly turned out to be correct. But the DME that is keeping my wife and me alive — thanks for the extra tax on that stuff in the name of lowering our health care costs.

      1. You see it one way and I another. That’s what makes the world go round. If you don’t recognize that people like Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin have an obvious political agenda, then you aren’t paying close enough attention. Fox News is a little less obvious about their political biases, but that just makes their cynical approach to journalism all the more glaring.

        1. Jim, let’s be honest. Find one objective news outlet these days. ONE that’s not taking sides and slanting news. Limbaugh and Levin are not claiming to be newscasters. They are entertainers and pundits, and explicit about that. If I want real breaking objective news I check my twitter feed for something to spring up. If it’s one of the main news sites, on both sides of the aisle, I know the story is basically written before events happen and they just stick the facts in at the end.

Diogenes can now put down his lamp. Jonathan Gruber is the honest man he has been looking for throughout all these centuries.

    1. ahad_ha_amoratsim

Of course, Diogenes would have to expand his definition to include someone who glats “Yeah, I lied and I’m proud that you dumb clucks fell for it!”

  3. When I saw the headline, I thought it would be in relation to Obamas weak/tepid response to the latest round of terror attacks against Israel.

That said, it’s sad that it took many in the press so long to figure out Obama’s say one thing do another philosophy. His “coalition” in the fight against ISIS another example of saying one thing publicly and doing something very different in reality, and then making anyone that calls him on it into a villain.

I would say that the point of this thread is to illustrate Obama’s credibility gap in more ways than the topic of Israel.

  4. videos surfaced of an mit grad patting himself on the back and calling the american public stupid

newsflash….all mit grads think you and i are stupid

and compared to them, they are right

    1. There are some very bright people at MIT and there are some very arrogant people at MIT. But intelligence doesn’t always lead to arrogance and arrogance isn’t always a sign of intelligence.
