Peace Activists Learn Hard Way That Palestinians Not Always Thankful

Machsom Watch describes itself as

“a volunteer organization of Israeli women who are peace activists from all sectors of society. We oppose the Israeli occupation in the area known as the West Bank, we oppose the appropriation of Palestinian land and the denial of Palestinian human rights.  We support the right of Palestinians to move freely in their land and oppose the checkpoints which severely restrict Palestinian daily life.”

Through our observations, reports, films, photographs and tours we aim to influence public opinion in Israel and throughout the world by recording and authenticating the impossible conditions faced by the Palestinians under Israeli occupation; conditions which also corrode the fabric of Israeli society and the values of democracy. We attempt to ease the frustrations and hardships of Palestinians by offering formal assistance wherever we can.

A couple of Machsom Watch certainly helped ease the frustration of one palestinian the other day.

Two Israeli women, members of the leftwing Machsom Watch, which monitors and documents the conduct of Israeli soldiers and policemen at checkpoints in Judea and Samaria, were attacked this week in Azzun, near Qalqilya, in Samaria, News 0404 reported Thursday.

The two arrived in the village of Azzun to encourage and support the local Arabs, when one local Arab was encouraged to grabb a gold bracelet one of the women was wearing on her wrist. The Arab fled, with the woman chasing after him in her car with her colleague – until the two arrived at a village adjacent to Azzun.

At that point, local Arabs began to attack the women’s vehicle with cinder blocks and stones, until IDF forces were rushed over and the women were rescued from a lynching quite miraculously.

“The stupidity of the extreme left brings them to similar situations every time and they do not understand the constant danger to their lives,” a military source told News 0404, adding, “Because of their stupidity, IDF forces had to leave their operational activity and hop to an event that was born out of sheer foolishness.”

Perhaps Machsom Watch needs to change its name to Machsom Watch, Bracelet and Other Forms of Jewelry.

Although I guess it could have been worse.

In the meantime, you can’t fix stupid.

  1. Oh, for the Love of Life Orchestra. It’s one thing to ignore the voice of tradition and the voice of conscience, but the voice of EXPERIENCE too?!

  2. They did not have a hard enough lesson. The IDF should have left them there for a few hours. Just like the hours they spend harassing the IDF.

    Sang Billy Joel,

“I’ve lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to a fire, the more you get burned.”

  4. Machsom Watch supports terrorism and endangers Israel. These traitors should be arrested and Machsom Watch should be declared illegal.

  5. What’s the problem? The Palestinians were merely taking back what was rightfully theirs. Their land, their gold. These women should have been happy. They certainly should not have allowed the IDF to interfere with a perfectly legitimate repossession.
