Assisting the World

Karen Dunn writes about the substantial humanitarian assistance that Israel has provided to people worldwide, something that the media has ignored while tarnishing Israel’s image (hat tip: Chaya). This includes:

  • Assistance to third world and developing countries to alleviate hunger, disease and poverty
  • Granting safe haven to refugees and foreign nationals in distress such as Vietnamese refugees, Bosnian-Muslims displaced by the civil war in Yugoslavia, and displaced ethnic Albanians and Kosovo refugees
  • Humanitarian aid in the wake of natural disasters, as well as countries ravaged by war and terrorism

And to think that this list is only the tip of the iceberg, and does not include Israel’s other contributions to the world, including advances in the fields of hi-tech and medical science.

Not bad for a tiny country with enough problems on its plate.

Not bad for a country of Jews who people like Michael Talismann would have you believe do not care about non-Jews.

Not bad for the “biggest threat to world peace.”
