At least one person was killed in an terror attack at a hitchhiking stand in the French Hill junction in northern Jerusalem on the road leading to the Dead Sea, Israel Radio reported.
The blast, which occurred at about 3:50 P.M., was caused by a female suicide bomber, according to Jerusalem police chief Ilan Franco.Magen David Adom paramedics are treating casualties at the scene. According to Israel Radio, there are at least three people in serious condition.Three people are also in light condition.
We pass by this junction every time we drive to Beit El to visit my in-laws. We have even picked up one of Erika’s brothers from this point, when he is coming home from his army base.

Al-Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat’s Fatah faction, claimed responsibility for the attack shortly afterward and said the female bomber came from the Jenin area.
Ariel Sharon had just recently stated that Arafat will “get what he deserves…when the time comes, when we think it’s appropriate and the necessary conditions are there, we will decide what to do.”
