1. Here’s a scary thought:
Senior Palestinian Authority sources said late Saturday that Chairman Yasser Arafat has lost some of his mental capacities and cannot function. Some doubt that he will be capable of resuming his position as PA leader, even if his health recovers to some extent.
The man was not playing with a full deck before this illness. Now he is probably down to the two jokers.
2. From the Department of Appropriate Names:
The Palestinian envoy to Paris, Leila Shahid, said specialists were still looking for the cause of the dramatic collapse of the Palestinian leader’s health.
Terrorfat has always told of his desire to be a Shahid. He may not get the chance now, but this may be the next best thing.
3. When Terrorfat does bite the dust, the PLO Arabs will undoubtedly blame his death on Israel. Watching CNN a few nights ago, Ashrawi, Shaath and company were already insinuating that Terrorfat’s confinement in the Mukata was detrimental to his health. Now, Al-Crapeeza are setting the scene for a more direct accusation.
Another Arafat-aide said the doctors were also looking into the possibility of viral infection or poisoning.
4. How appropriate would it be if Terrorfat died in France of all places? They deserve him.
Update: As a follow-up to my last point, could this be the PLO Arab suggestion for Terrorfat’s replacement?
