The Jerusalem Post reports on another Hamas hudna offer:
Sheikh Hassan Yusef, head of the Hamas political bureau in Ramallah said Monday that Hamas is willing to declare a 10 year hudna, or ceasefire, and called on the United States and the international community to reconsider their definition of the movement as a “terror organization.”
Oh, gee. Sounds like a great deal. 10-years for the terrorists to regroup after suffering heavy losses, followed by a heavy onslaught of terrorism. Thanks, but no thanks. I have a counter-proposal: How about Hamas immediately stops trying to kill people, or finds itself on the receiving end of some heavy duty IDF military action?
By the way, I suspect from their call for the US and international community to reconsider its definition of them, that that this kind of action has somehow disrupted their operations. Whether it be by helping to reduce the flow of funds to Hamas coffers, or in some other way, it was a good move. Which goes to show that a concerted global effort is needed in the fight against terrorism.
