Comings and Goings

  • Welcome to Ynet News in English. The Hebrew version is already Israel’s largest news site. Whether or not this English version can become the largest Israel news site in English remains to be seen. But it shouldn’t have any trouble surpassing the rather lame Jerusalem Post website (I am loathe to admit that Ha’aretz has an awesome website in terms of usability, even though I detest its politics). On the plus side, the Ynet site has a nice look and feel. On the down side, the blog is embarassingly bad. (Why not hire some of the established blogging talent?)
  •

  • Bye to champion Perth Wildcats point guard Ricky Grace. They call him Amazing Grace, and if you ever had the privilege of watching him play, you would know why.
  •

  • Jordan has returned its ambassador to Israel. Of course, there has been some controversy, but we expect that by now.
  •

  • Speaking of ambassadors, the finale of Israel’s best reality tv show, The Ambassador, is tonight. A few issues will be resolved tonight, such as who will win (my money is on Eitan), and will Harry awaken from his slumber and post a much anticipated synopsis?
  •

  • Somone who we hope is not on the way out is former Israeli president Ezer Weizman. Refua Shleima, Ezer.
  •

Update: AKS weighs in on Ynet. Harry discusses The Ambassador and something that once happened at Lucky Changs. Dare I ask?
