Jewschool’s Mobius has trouble with the planned anti-disengagement hunger strike by a group of right-wing students, on the grounds that a hunger strike constitutes intentionally doing harm to one’s body, and is thus prohibited by Jewish law.
Of course, Mobius’ righteous indignation is predicated on the assumption that these right-wing students are “religious.” However, as the article states:
The group is comprised of mostly secular students who reside within the Green Line .
So much for that. Unless Mobius has a general problem with anyone putting themself in harm’s way to get their point across. In which case, I am surprised I have not heard anything from him regarding this:

(risk of burning yourself)
..this…
(risk of being run over by a bulldozer)
..this…
(risk of falling out of tree, or being attacked by a bird)
..or this…
(risk of being shot, having a gun jammed where the sun don’t shine, or any risks associated with walking around in public with pink glasses)
Update: Mobius has decided that I have insulted him with this post, and decided to refuse to redesign this site (yes, the secret’s out – I might detest the guy’s politics, but he is a talented designer). Despite the fact that I don’t attack him as a person, but rather a stance he is taking. And despite the fact that I made clear in the comments that this post is not making fun of him, but the lunatics who place themselves in such precarious situations. And here I was thinking that he opposes the crushing of dissent…
