In election-related news:

  • Shimon Peres may be joining Ariel Sharon’s Kadima party as “number 2.” Rumor has it that he has already prepared the blueprints for Club Med West Bank.

  • Sharon is said to be pushing for a Presidential system of government, with direct elections for Prime Minister, and regional elections for Knesset members.
  •

    In other news:

  • Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom has said that Israel will never release jailed terrorist Marwan Barghouti because he “is a murderer whose hands are covered in the blood of many Israelis.” Which really means that he will be released the next time Hizbollah abduct one of our soldiers or civilians.

  • Head of the Meretz-Yahad Party, Yossi Beilin, believes that Israel should release Barghouti, stating that today, Barghouti “can be a moderating and positive influence.” Which says alot about the other influences on offer (not to mention Beilin’s failure to grasp reality).

  • Ahmed Saltana, a Hamas member from Jenin, has been detained on suspicion of funneling donation money from across the world to families of suicide bombers and prisoners. (Does anyone else find it funny that a guy named Saltana would try and help his people get 72 raisins?)
  • The BBC have admitted that one of their reporters crying for a dead neo palestinian terrorist could constitute bias.
