The IDF In Haiti

One of the first encounters between IDF Search and Rescue team and a local Hatian. The local is trying to explain to the forces where to look for victims of the earthquake.

Without batting an eyelid, Israel sent an aid delegation to the devastated Caribbean nation of Haiti – said to be “one of the biggest and most skilled on the island.” And they have already opened the biggest field hospital in Haiti in the Port-au-Prince soccer field.

The head of Israel’s rescue and aid delegation IDF Brigadier-General Shalom Ben Aryeh said earlier today that there is still a chance of finding survivors beneath the rubble of the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

Here’s hoping he’s right.

Update: The IDF has now also posted this footage of the aid delegation beginning its work.
