Mini-Me In Israel

Israel’s latest celebrity visitor is the larger-than-life “Mini-Me”.

Actor Verne Troyer, famous for his role as ‘Mini-Me’ in the Austin Powers movies, found himself spending Valentine’s Day lounging poolside in Herzeliya. Towering over his toddler competition at 2’8?, Verne is in Israel doing a fashion shoot for TNT, a popular Israeli clothing line.

Said the 42-year old in an interview with Jerusalem Post last week, “A lot of my fan base is made up of kids, so I thought it would be cool to come and promote the line. I’ll be wearing some of the clothes, too.”

This isn’t the first time the Israeli clothing chain has gone after unconventional choices for its models. Last summer, TNT partned up with Jesus Luz, better known as Madonna’s (now ex)boyfriend.

This is his first visit to the Holy Land, and for Verne, he says it’s the religious aspect of Israel he connects with best. Said Verne,  “I come from a religious home, and my mom still goes to church every day. Other than that, I don’t really know what to expect. I’m really looking forward to it.”

And judging from his tweets, he really seems to love it here.

I just wonder what he thinks about this campaign for Israel.
