Arab Theologians On Jews And Israel – Settlement
There is a rather special little red book that researchers in the field of Muslim attitudes toward Jews have long known about and is owned by a few. As a tribute to the man who complied it, it will soon be available in full on the web and print on demand versions will follow for those interested in owning it.
It contains a series of photographically reproduced articles from a much larger 900 page tome published by al-Azhar University in Cairo. These are the proceedings of the Fourth Conference of the Academy of Islamic Research in September 1968
Shall we see what they say about, oh, for example, “settlement”?
How dull-witted had been these Zionists! Only had they thought of spreading such attractive religious doctrines, while overlooking the violent reaction that would inevitably take place among Muslims, the core of whose beliefs embody the up-keep of the Aqsa Mosque, and the preservation of the Holy Land for the rescue of which, during the Crusades, they had shed copious blood until they delivered it from foreign domination. Besides, there had elapsed, since the historical settlement of Arabs in this territory, a period that is almost longer than any, respecting other peoples. [Emphasis added]
What! Muslim Arabs are settlers in Israel? Golly gosh.
And thanks for fending off those evil Crusaders, great job there, now be good chaps and hand it back to the only existing people who were here BEFORE you came in as settlers OK?
