My Name Is Rachel Corrie. And So Is This Iranian Street’s

The Iranians are planning on honoring deceased anti-Israel terror enabler Rachel Corrie (hat tip: Gerald).

The City Council of Tehran has announced that a street in the Iranian capital will be named after the American activist, Rachel Corrie, Press TV reported with reference to Fars news agency.

During a session on Tuesday, the council ratified a proposal to name a street after the activist, who is viewed by many as an epitome of resistance against Israel.

According to the proposal, the 27th street of Tehran’s municipal District Six will be named after Rachel Corrie.

Corrie, a 23-year-old American activist from Olympia, Washington, and a member of the International Solidarity Movement, was crushed to death in the Gaza Strip by an Israeli bulldozer on March 16, 2003, when she intervened to prevent a Palestinian home from demolition.

I wonder if they had considered the irony of naming a street – of all things – after her.
