Ah, spit; some poofter has blocked the Philosophers Song. At any rate, I have always thought that this Monty Python sketch caught the essence of what it means to be Australian, even though they did not manage to effect a convincing Australian accent in the process.
For gay people, irony is one of the most treasured aspects of life. In a humourous context, it can reveal life’s deeper meanings. I suspect this is the main reason why “Hee Haw” and Gallagher do not have a very large gay following.
