Israel Apartheid Week has started in the US and Europe, and commences soon in places including Canada and South Africa. During this week, anti-Israel activists engaged in activities on university campuses, such as setting up mock check-points to hassle students, erecting apartheid walls, and organizing speakers calling for boycotts, divestments, and international sanctions of the Jewish State.
Rather than staying on the defensive, a number of pro-Israel organizations are countering these nefarious activities with some of their own.
This week, JerusalemOnlineU.com is running a free web stream of their documentary Crossing the Line, about anti-Israel sentiments and actions on college campuses.
In addition, they are hosting with Alan Dershowitz a free webinar on anti-Semitism on campus Sunday, March 11, 2012 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM EDT. You can register here.
There also a number of other initiatives, including:
- A comprehensive manual specifically targeted at tackling the delegitimization, entitled The Playbook, developed by the Jewish United Fund’s Israel Education Center
- Israel Peace Week, a grassroots initiative to counter anti-Israel propaganda with a simple, positive message: Israel wants peace and has demonstrated its willingness to make painful sacrifices for peace
If you a student on a campus hosting Israel Apartheid Week, make sure you get involved in some of these counter activities.
