One of the most frustrating things about being a blogger is having your work ripped off.
Bloggers are not perceived as journalists, and they do not tend to be litigious, which gives others the feeling they have carte blanche to pass off your work as their own.
The latest example of someone who decided they would steal my work is Jews News, who posted this on Facebook:
That may look familar to you, because I created that exact juxtaposition, including the quote. Only I had the sense to try to verify that the second photo was indeed of palestinians. When I discovered it may have been instead from Somalia, I replaced it with a photo that could be verified as such.
This was not an innocent mistake. Instead of linking to my original work, they altered it and passed it off as their own. Only they passed off the original version, which is not accurate, afact that makes it susceptible to attack by pro palestinians.
Update: The guy who runs Jews News has now included a link to my post. He claims he found the photo elsewhere.
