Because finding a way to use Mel Gibson to promote Israel without even having to Photoshop anything achieves a number of things: promotes Israel, mocks Gibson, AND would surely piss him off.
A law school graduate, David Lange transitioned from work in the oil and hi-tech industries into fulltime Israel advocacy. He is a respected commentator and Middle East analyst who has often been cited by the mainstream media

He seems to be saying: “I am Israel. Just like Bono, I am Israel.” Or… coming soon to a theater near you, Warner Brothers presents a Mel Gibson film – David Schwimmer IS Judah Maccabee in “The Maccabees.” This film not yet rated.
The Anti-Zionist Kangaroo Judges: “Israel, you stand charged with illegal activities.”
Zionist Bravehearts: “Against what law?”
Anti-Zionists: “Against international law. Have you anything to say?”
Zionist Bravehearts: “Never in our whole lives did we swear allegiance to it.”
Yes, I know what answer comes after that. But here the comparison ends, because we’re not in Braveheart’s position of having been apprehended, we’re still standing up fighting. We have some leaders, and a lot of media and academic chatterati, who would run away from the fight, appease the Islamic imperialists with yet another morsel of our already tiny land, in order that they might live a while more, hopefully dying in their beds, but most of us are ready to fight for FREEDOM!
“Braveheart” was so historically inaccurate that it was almost as humorous as the 1956 film “The Ten Commandments”. The “French princess” Isabella(later known as The She-Wolf of France) was actually around 6 years old in the time frame that the film covers. Also how do you fight a Battle of Sterling Bridge without there even being a bridge? Just asking.

+ a crude outline of the State of Israel on his face in white. Brilliant.
He obviously was wearing hair extensions.
