Because our storks are way too advanced to be delivering babies.
Thousands of people in northern Nablus have been losing electricity repeatedly over the past few days after birds damaged cables, causing them to short-circuit, officials said Tuesday.
Palestine Electricity Company officials said technicians had been trying to verify the cause of a power outage in the areas of al-Badhan, al-Fara, Talluza, Yasid and al-Nassariya.
Surprisingly, they found six large storks dead under the electricity cables.
“We have been notified repeatedly by citizens complaining about power outages. When we checked the disconnected locations, our technicians found some birds dead near the cables,” said Yahya Arafat, the company’s executive president for the northern West Bank.
“They discovered that the huge storks weighing about 5 kilograms used to land between the cables and cause short-circuits,” Arafat said.
