Iran’s newly elected president Hassan Rouhani has been described as a moderate. And while many believe this is not the case, I think today we see the clearest proof that he indeed is.
Iran’s new president has called Israel an “old wound” that should be removed in comments published just two days ahead of his inauguration and as millions of Iranians took to the streets to mark al-Quds Day.
This compares very favorably to what other Iranian leaders have referred to Israel as: a “cancer.”
So calling us an “old wound” is clearly way more moderate!
