Don’t Worry! We are not replacing the old commenting system. We’ve just put a new fangled Facebook comment box down there alongside. We’re going to see if it gets much use and take a decision in a couple of weeks.
If you have strong feelings, please comment. Use which ever system you prefer!
Just a regular comment to remind those not comfortable with this change that the old system remains..
Yup, good old faithful is still down here.
Change is not good for me at my age. I want everything to stay the same, except that Brian should find better source material in developing his political philosophy.
Well, there’s one problem I can see, or rather can’t. If you use AdBlock Chrome extension, the comment box doesn’t show at all
I don’t like the facebook system because I would have to use my real name, not anneinpt. My blog does have a FB page but that’s called Anne’ s Opinions so no one would realize it’s me.
Plus, there are many people who don’t have FB accounts at all.
I think we’ll be keeping a parallel system for quite some time to come. I’m also nervous about handing over the comments to Facebook but if it engages more people and spreads the message, it’s something we need to do.
Sorry, no facebook account.
And I work in IT 🙂
Too many FB accounts get closed down for no valid reason following worthless complaints. Also, I rarely go on my FB page. But, it’s fine to have two accesses to your stories.
I definitely like this form of commenting better than Facebook’s because I can edit my comments both while I’m writing and before I publish them. With Facebook, any attempt to alter what was written automatically freezes the comment wherever you are. This is intensely annoying!
