Today The Times of Israel reported that 6 Israelis have died in cold blood directly by the hands of the terrorists released as part of the 2011 Gilad Shalit deal.
And this makes me angry. Not only because we all foresaw these murders when the deal was done, but went through with it anyway. But also because it’s so much more than these 6 innocent Israelis and so much more than the who-knows-how-many to come. They were directly involved in starting the very destructive and very costly 2014 Gaza War. They continue to plan murders, and they don’t care which one of their children gets hurt along the way.
Today Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu goes on and on about the “bad deal” with Iran. But there is no doubt what was done in 2011 was also a very bad deal which involved very heavy international pressure against the will of the Israeli public.
These 1,027 unrepentant terrorists collectively killed 569 Israelis in terror attacks before they went to jail. They were let loose in the West Bank to continue their plans to destroy the Jewish state and kill Jewish people. They continued to do so almost immediately. Many terrorists have already been re-arrested. But their goal was clear. Continue where they left off in their path of destruction.
And here I will summarize the evil for you to understand the evil of the people released. The people the Israeli public was pressured to release by those involved in the Shalit Deal.
Pro-Palestinian activists will try to portray Palestinian prisoners as “political prisoners” arrested for nothing more than sticking it to the man. It is our job to tell the world that this isn’t true. These are genuine monsters with actual blood on their hands.

Why am I doing this for you? Because in a public relations war between the murderer and the victim, it boggles my mind that the side of the murderer is winning. Have the haters succeeded in dehumanizing Israelis so much that this is the case? You need to know about the prisoners. Why they were in jail in the first place and the path of destruction they led after their release. And to remind you all of this zinger. They are all receiving a lofty salary from the Palestinian Authority for their actions.
Ziad Awwad (??? ???)
Number of casualties caused by his release:
- Murdered: Baruch Mizrahi, 48 from Modi’in.
- Wounded: 1 pregnant woman, 1 child.
Why was he in jail in the first place?
Involvement in Hamas and for murdering Palestinians who were suspected of collaboration with Israel.
Post Prison Activities:
Awwad was released from prison on October 18, 2011.
On Passover Eve, April 14, 2014, Awwad got on a motorcycle, armed with a machine gun and shot at Israeli vehicles on route 35. In the process, he murdered 48 year old Police superintendent Baruch Mizrahi, wounded his 28 year-old pregnant wife and his 9-year old son.
On July 2, 2014 Awwad’s home was demolished by the IDF and B’Tselem called him “innocent“.

Mahmoud Kawasme (??? ???)
Number of casualties caused by his release:
- Murdered: 3 Israeli teenagers,
- Naftali Fraenkel, 16, from Nof Ayalon
- Gilad Shaer, 16, from Talmon
- Eyal Yifrah, 19, from El’ad
- Set off chain of events that led to the 2014 Gaza War which killed 73 and wounded 556 Israelis; plus 765 Palestinian civilians intentionally killed by Hamas.
Why was he in jail in the first place?
This. A double bus bombing in Be’er Sheva which killed 16 Israelis and wounded 100 on August 31, 2004.
Post Prison Activities:
Kawasme was released from prison on October 18, 2011.
Kawasme was involved in the funding and planning of the kidnap and murder of 3 Israeli teenage Yeshiva students. The events that followed directly as a result of this were Operation Brothers Keeper and Operation Protective Edge (the 2014 Gaza War).
Ahmad Najjar (??? ???)
Number of casualties caused by his release:
- Murdered: Malachy Rosenfeld, 26 from Jerusalem.
- Wounded: 3 of his friends
Why was he in jail in the first place?
Planning and execution of a 2003 terror attack in which 6 Israelis were shot to death.
Post Prison Activities:
Immediately joined a Hamas terror network composed of former prisoners. Najjar orchestrated and funded the terror attack that killed Rosenfeld.
Osama As’ad (??? ???)
Number of casualties caused by his release:
- Murdered: Danny Gonen, 25 from Lod.
- Wounded: 1 of Danny’s friends
Why was he in jail in the first place?
As’ad was arrested for dealing arms in Qalandia to terrorists who used the weapons in attacks that killed Israelis.
Post Prison Activities:
While Danny and his friend returning from a hiking trip, a terror cell lured Gonen by flagging them down and asking for water. The shooter Mahmad Shahin pulled out a gun and shot the 2 at point blank range. As’ad was responsible for hiding the weapons used in the attack.
