Ok, it is really Starbucks related, but I’m sure you see what I did with the title.
Via Facebook:
So I am at Starbucks with my jewish orthodox husband. He looks visibly jewish, beard, sidelocks, kippa. He ordered coffees for both of us. The Barista asked for his name, he replied “Moshe”. This is what was written on our cups.
To those of you who are asking why I didn’t confront the barista or manager right then and there, I will explain.
Those of you who know me in the real world know that I would never never ever have taken this kind of treatment quietly. I am the first person to stand up for what I believe is right. So what happened yesterday?Well, what brought my husband and I to Rockland Shopping Centre yesterday was my 16 year old daughter. We were at the mall so that she could get her hair and makeup done for yearbook pictures which were being taken last evening. She was with us at Starbucks. When we got our coffees I was ready to jump. Believe me. I was so hurt. Hurt for my husband that he had to experience such disgusting behaviour and hurt for my daughter that this is the world she will be entering into in just a few short months when she graduates high school. So I was ready to yell and my daughter said “Please mom, please don’t say anything. Please don’t make scene. Let’s just leave”. So we did. Honestly, when I think about it, when I think that I taught my daughter that when someone doesn’t treat you with respect you just swallow it and accept it, I feel very sad. — with Starbucks.
I’m assuming what we are dealing with here is a Barista with an antisemitism problem, not Tourette’s Syndrome.
Wake up and smell the coffee – antisemitism is not going away, it is getting stronger. The antisemites are more often dropping the anti-Zionism charade, and going commando (so to speak) with their Jew hatred.
As far as I am concerned, we need to shame these mofos. This Barista is lucky I do not have his photo and details. It would make things difficult for him when seeking another high end job.
Update: I should point out that upon seeing this posted to their wall, Starbucks responded.
