Last night I stayed up to watch Eurovision 2016. Partly to support Israel’s Hovi Star, but also partly so I could make snarky comments about it on Twitter.
As usual, Eurovision did not disappoint in terms of providing grist for my mill. The quality of the songs were what I have come to expect. Not great.
But there were some standout moments for me – here are my top 10 in no particular order.
Poland’s time-traveling Weird Al impersonator from the 17th century.
The Croatian Pink-lookalike who looked like she had been swallowed up by a tree monster.
Hovi Star’s performance.
Russia putin on a real show.
The judge from Iceland aka Wannabe Bond villain.
The Israeli judge’s show-off moment.
The Ukranian judges.
The comedy bits.
Some real talent performing.
