Streits is a kosher food company founded in 1916 and based in New York City. It is best known for its product Streit’s Matzo.
I guess they have been feeling the pinch lately as more Jews get their matzot from Israel. But not to worry! Streits seem willing to throw Israel under the bus for their own profits.
It seems those behind this are a marketing agency called Harvesting Media.
For the record, besides being unnecessary, this marketing campaign is dumb. Since when is matzah, the “bread of affliction”, fresh or even supposed to be?
As a friend pointed out, let’s celebrate the holiday of our redemption from exile by showing just how entrenched we are in the exile.

Update: It seems many commenters disagree with me and think I was being overly sensitive. I still hold by this post – there is a way to advertise a virtue of your product without being negative towards competitors because they are located in Israel. I hope this post causes Streits to adopt a more positive advertising campaign.
