EXCLUSIVE: Capital One Employee Treats Israel-Based Customer in Disgusting Manner

My friend Miriam tells me she had trouble accessing her Capital One account in order to pay a bill, and so called the advertised 1-877 number (which is clearly a US number).

What happened next upset her greatly.

After calling the number, the Capital One customer service representative asked her where she was from calling from and to spell it. Miriam said “Israel” and spelled it I-S-R-A-E-L , to which the rep responded:

“Well, Capital One takes security very seriously and since Israel is an occupier, your access is currently restricted.”

The rep added not quite reassuringly:

“You can still use your credit card but can’t see online activity”

When Miriam expressed her anger over this treatment, the rep had the audacity to say:

“Oh, well I have been very transparent with you”

while repeating the idea that we are “occupiers.”

From what Miriam told me, I assume this was a rogue employee and not someone representing official Capital One policy. She also told me they did not have a US accent.

I will be contacting Capital One, and ask you all to do the same, in order to ensure this employee is punished accordingly, and such incidents do not ever happen again.
