A Reminder of The IRA-Palestinian Terror (And Antisemitism) Connection

A few days ago, I posted video of author Tuvia Tenenbom encountering vile antisemitism from some pub goers in the Northern Ireland city of Derry.

You won’t be surprised to find out that Derry is an IRA hotspot – and we were reminded of this last night.

A journalist has died after shots were fired in the Creggan area of Derry on Thursday night.

The victim has been named by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) as 29 year-old Lyra McKee.

A murder inquiry has begun and the PSNI is treating the death as a terrorist incident. Police believe the New IRA were behind the killing.

Fifty petrol bombs were thrown at police on Thursday, the PSNI said, and a gunman was seen crouched and firing up the street. The police did not return fire.

PSNI assistant chief constable Mark Hamilton on Friday morning said the killing was “horrendous and unjustified”.

Mr Hamilton called for calm over the coming Easter weekend. He requested that people exercise sensitivity and not share videos of Thursday’s violence online, but share them with police.

It is understood the disorder followed a police security operation in the area.

In a Facebook post, Emmet Doyle said he witnessed the young woman being shot.

“A lot of people were standing . . . including children,” he said.

“A masked figure stopped at the bottom of the road and fired shots up towards the Land Rovers.

“We all turned and ran. I stopped beside the Land Rover nearer the top of the street and a girl beside me dropped to the ground.

“More people could have been killed tonight, including children.”

And there’s this:

Live fire around children, Molotov cocktails…..if that sounds familiar, there is a reason for it. The IRA and palestinian terror organizations have quite a history together.

And on the subject of parallels between what is going on in Northern Ireland and Israel

In an early morning press conference Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hamilton said police had information of planned attacks in the city over the Easter weekend and had carried out searches for munitions and firearms.

“Bullets have to stop somewhere and on this occasion, they stopped fatally,” he said.

Could you imagine the uproar if an IDF spokesperson uttered these same words?
