The “postcards” between the acts have been amazing (the acts themselves..not so much), but this guest performance by the Shalva band has wowed everyone.
Even the BBC’s socks were knocked off!
A bit of background: Shalva were actually the favorites to represent Israel, after making it to the finals of the show which selects Israel’s Eurovision representative. But they dropped out when they realized they would have to participate in rehearsals on Shabbat in order to perform at the Eurovision itself.
I believe had they not, they would have won the entire thing. But integrity and principle is way more important than some song contest.
And yes, that is dust in the air irritating our eyes. Why do you ask?
