When I started this blog back in 2003, I quickly recognized the potential threats to my safety and livelihood, leading to my decision to adopt the pseudonym ‘Aussie Dave.’ In short: I understood there are many nasty antisemites out there who do not appreciate those of us who defend Israel online – and to them, there is a special place in hell for those of us who actually go after them!
Of course, back in late 2011, antisemitic DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein published my real name and where I live, after I made a complete fool of him in a “sting operation” I orchestrated to show how he does no fact-checking. Unfortunately, a reader of his was able to discover these details after the post by searching israellycool.com’s domain name history.
Following Silverstein’s post (and subsequent tweets every once in a while to sic his antisemitic followers on to me), my family and I have endured some sickening treatment, including death threats, and a recent harassment campaign , which involved emails with libels about me and my wife, sent to managers and colleagues at work in an effort to get me fired. Of course, my employer determined I had done nothing wrong and stuck by me, but it was nevertheless an infuriating thing to go through, especially at a time where my family is dealing with my wife’s serious illness (and naturally, Silverstein was there to applaud the harassment).
Even though my real name has been out there for a while, I still stuck with ‘Aussie Dave’ (and ‘Ozraeli Dave’ on Twitter) because I figured not every antisemite is even smart enough to use Google. At least make them work a bit to ID me!
But today, I officially left my day job (sorry, Jew haters, but I left voluntarily and on great terms with my former employer). So I see no more need to write under the pseudonym ‘Aussie Dave.’
From now on, I will be changing my author name to my real name: David Lange. And I am dedicating myself, profession-wise, to Israel advocacy (feel free to hit the donate button under the post if you would like to support my efforts).
So antisemites and Israel haters, watch out. Not only will ‘doxxing’ me no longer be a thing, but I will be spending more time making your lives hell.
